A FAITHFUL SON OF GOD AND SAVIOUR OF SINNERS.

Hebrews 3:1-6

Q.1. In what way is Jesus like Moses and in what way is Jesus much greater than Moses? What does this mean for us? – (Heb.3:1-6)

Both Moses and Jesus were faithful. However, we do not have to look far into the life of Moses, to see that Moses was far from perfect. By contrast, Jesus is – the Apostle and High Priest of our confession (Heb.3:1 c.f. Heb.2:17-18). As if that is not enough, Moses was a servant of God, whereas Jesus is the Son of God, and the Maker and Owner of everything (see Heb.3:2-4 c.f. Heb.1:1-3). Moses in no way compares with Jesus – For He has been counted with more glory than Moses by just so much as a builder as the builder of the house has more honour than the house (Heb.3:3). Jesus not only gives us eternal life but access to the Father at all times – for Christ was faithful as a Son over His house – whose house we are if we hold fast our confidence and the boast of our hope firm until the end (Heb.3:6). He is only a prayer away (see Heb.2:17-18).
