ELIHU DECLARES THAT THE GREATNESS OF GOD IS TO BE FEARED.

Job 37:1-24

Q.1. What control does humanity have over the forces of nature? Can we comprehend God’s power? How does God use the weather patterns? – (Job 37:1-13)

God does – great things which we cannot comprehend … God brings to a standstill the hand of every man by severe weather and under His seal all are forced into inactivity so that all will know His sovereign power and their subjection to it (Job 37:5 & 7 transliteration). He uses the forces of nature to correct man, and to lovingly provide – Whether for correction, or for His world, or for lovingkindness, He causes it to happen (Job 37:13).

Q.2. Who can explain God’s weather extremes? How awesome is God? What impact should His character and ways have on people? – (Job 37:14-24)

Elihu continued his survey of nature’s fury, and the extremes in weather. We can’t even understand or explain the intricacies of the nature that God has created (Job 37:14-20). Yet for all His power, He will never violate His own character – The Almighty–we cannot find Him; He is exalted in power And He will not do violence to justice and abundant righteousness (Job 37:23). His message to Job was to be humble, since – therefore men fear Him; He does not regard any who are wise of heart (Job37:24). Much of Elihu’s observations were commendable. However, he had prejudged God’s servant, and had shown him no compassion, in the midst of his suffering.
