ISRAEL HAS REJECTED GOD’S WORD AND HE REJECTS THEIR APPEALS.

Hosea 8:1-14

Q.1. What did the prophet state will happen to Israel? Why will God no longer listen to her prayers? – (Hos.8:1-7)

Because of Israel’s transgression of the Covenant, and their rebellion against God’s good laws, the nation will reap a whirlwind of trouble. Though they go through prayer rituals, God will no longer heed their cries. His anger will burn against His people.

Q.2. How had God appealed to the nation? Why were their sacrifices no longer acknowledged by Him? – (Hos.8:8-14)

God had repeatedly spoken to the nation – Though I wrote for him ten thousand precepts of My law, they are regarded as a strange thing (Hos.8:12). Even their sacrifices were made on altars of sin – As for My sacrificial gifts, they sacrifice the flesh and eat it, but the Lord has taken no delight in them. Now He will remember their iniquity and punish them for their sins; they will return to Egypt (Hos.8:13). This reminds us that God hates hypocrisy.
