MICAH WARNS THAT OPPRESSORS ARE DOOMED BUT THERE IS HOPE IN FUTURE.

Micah 2:1-13

Q.1. How will God respond to injustice? Why will God punish evildoers? How does God justify his treatment of oppressors? – (Mic.2:1-11)

Micah indicated that God keeps a record of the evil Israel plans each day. He informed them that God has already set a time when their arrogance will be exposed (Mic.2:3). For those questioning who is behind the coming calamities Micah declared – “Is it being said, O house of Jacob: `Is the Spirit of the Lord impatient? Are these His doings?’ Do not My words do good to the one walking uprightly? (Mic.2:7). Just as surely as God blesses the righteous, He will not delay in punishing all evildoers in the nation.

Q.2. Is there any hope for Israel? What will happen to a future remnant of His people? Who will lead them to safety? – (Mic.2:12-13)

With typical grace, God communicated that there is hope for a future remnant of His people – 12 “I will surely assemble all of you, Jacob, I will surely gather the remnant of Israel. I will put them together like sheep in the fold, Like a flock in the midst of its pasture. They will be noisy with men. 13 … So their king goes on before them, and the Lord at their head.” (Mic.2:12-13). He foreshadowed a day when the Lord their King will lead them, just as a shepherd cares for his sheep. Is this based on Israel’s deserts? No more than we deserve the life offered through the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
