Proverbs 29:18-27 THE IMPORTANCE OF A CLEAR VISION FROM GOD.

Proverbs 29:18-27

Q.1. What difference does a vision from God make? How does this the way of the ungodly compare with that of the righteous person? – (Prov.29:18, 23-27)

The Amplified version is helpful in translating Proverbs 29:18 – Where there is no vision … no revelation of God and His word, the people are unrestrained; But happy and blessed is he who keeps the law … of God. Today’s leaders observe all the damage done by drugs and alcohol and claim it can be fixed by education. However, the real problem with society is that we have removed God, and any real purpose for living. People need a vision based on that which was revealed in the Word of God. That will bring restoration and give people a reason for living. It takes humility to admit that we need God, and that giving in to man’s opinion leads to strife and trouble (Prov.29:23 & 25). Those who only live on the horizontal human plain but neglect the divine vertical plain will come to grief.

Q.2. What insights did Solomon give about the way people communicate? How should we treat a servant or employee? – (Prov.29:19-22)

Solomon observed how words were being misused – Do you see a man who is hasty in his words? There is more hope for a fool than for him … An angry man stirs up strife, and a hot-tempered man abounds in transgression (Prov.29:20 & 22). Nevertheless, words must be backed up with action (Prov.29:19). When that action is caring, it can turn a slave into a son (Prov.29:21).
