SOLOMON WARNS HIS SON TO AVOID WICKED AND WORTHLESS PEOPLE.

Proverbs 6:12-19

Q.1. What are the characteristics of a wicked and worthless person? How are we to understand these descriptions? What will happen to such a wicked person? – (Prov.6:12-15)

Solomon described a wicked and worthless person as one who speaks double, and one who winks with his eyes and uses signals to deceive. The wicked are not straight-forward, or true to their words. They plan evil and spread private information that causes strife. Solomon had seen it all. He declared about wicked men that – his calamity will come suddenly; Instantly he will be broken and there will be no remedy (Prov.6:15).

Q.2. What attitudes of the heart does God despise? How are we to understand Solomon’s wisdom in these matters? How was he trying to protect his children? – (Prov.6:16-19)

We should take note of what the Lord hates and avoid it like a plague – 17 Haughty eyes, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, 18 A heart that devises wicked plans, feet that run rapidly to evil, 19 A false witness who utters lies, and one who spreads strife among brothers (Prov.6:17-19). God hates pride, lies, ruthlessness, evil plans, false witnesses, and the spread of strife among brothers. He desires for His children to be true and loyal to others in their thought life, their conversations, and their actions.
