Psalm 119:1-8
Q.1. What qualities in His children is God sure to bless? Is it worth being godly? – (Ps.119:1-3)
The Psalmist started out by describing the ones whom God blesses – 1 How blessed are those whose way is blameless, who walk in the law of the Lord. 2 How blessed are those who observe His testimonies, who seek Him with all their heart Ps.119:1-2). He blesses those who walk in His ways and live according to His law. They take note of His testimonies that reveal how He has acted in the past, because they value God above all else. This keeps them walking in His ways (Ps.119:3).
Q.2. What benefits flow out of walking in the ways of the Lord? – (Ps.119:4-8)
Since God’s commands and precepts have been ordained for us … they establish us for a satisfying life, keep us from shame, and help us to know how to live a life that is pleasing to God (Ps.119:4-5). Our walking in God’s ways will save us from humiliation (Ps.119:6). The Psalmist approached the Lord with thankfulness. His keeping close to the Lord gave him assurance that God would not forsake him (Ps.119:7-8).
