THOSE WHO TRUST IN THE LORD WILL PROSPER.

Proverbs 28:19-28

Q.1. How can we be assured of God’s blessing? What attitudes and actions work against success? – (Prov.28:19-22, 27)

Solomon believed in hard work and productivity as a means of provision (see Prov.28:19). However, he understood that – A faithful man will abound with blessings … (Prov.28:20). Generosity was another quality he encouraged – He who gives to the poor will never want … (Prov.28:27).  He also warned against wrong attitudes and actions in life – he who follows empty pursuits will have poverty in plenty … he who makes haste to be rich will not go unpunished … A man with an evil eye hastens after wealth and does not know that want will come upon him … he who shuts his eyes (to the poor) will have many curses (Prov.28:19-20, 22 & 27). Solomon warned against ‘Get-Rich-Schemes’. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is not true.

Q.2. What is the best way to communicate? What did Solomon learn about trusting? What impact do wicked people have on others? – (Prov.28:23-26, 28)

Solomon believed it was better to confront, than to flatter (see Prov.28:23). We all trust our own judgment but must learn that it is best to trust in God – 25 … he who trusts in the Lord will prosper. 26 He who trusts in his own heart is a fool. But he who walks wisely will be delivered (Prov.28:25-26). People avoid wicked people, and when these are gone the righteous increase and prevail (see Prov.28:28).
