STUDY #7: YOUR NEW REASON FOR LIVING

AIM: To share further insights in how to live life to the full in a hostile world.

• This lesson draws attention to our calling to love God and love one another. Jesus summed up all the intricacies of the Old Testament Law under these two great priorities for believers. Love is also the characteristic Jesus highlighted in the New Commandment He gave His disciples in the Upper Room (Jn.13:34-35).
• This lesson also examines the calling of believers to take up their own cross. Being a follower of Jesus guarantees rejection and suffering. Jesus modelled this for us and promised that His followers would not be spared either (Jn.15:18-21; 1 Pet.2:21).
• In this lesson we will also touch briefly upon our great hope of Christ’s personal return for us and the home He has prepared for His followers in heaven (Jn.14:1-3; 1 Thes.4:13-17).
